Pursuant to Section 19 of the Lesotho Association of Teachers (LAT) Constitution the newly elected leadership of LAT (elected on the 1st February 2020) had its first sitting on the 18th September 2020. The meeting could not be held earlier owing to the national lock-down against COVID 19.

Among a number of resolutions made, the Union has resolved to strongly fight for ensuring the 2019 Career and Salary Structure is adjusted so teachers with the same qualifications are paid the same salary irrespective of the level at which they teach.

The Union further resolved to speedily engage in robust resource mobilization processes as enshrined in its 2020-2024 Strategic Plan, inter alia, the development of a microfinance company to emancipate teachers form money sharks.

The meeting was a resounding success for a clear direction for the Union has been given.

  1. since we all know about the problem that most institutions have when it comes to implementation in our country ,LAT can be more trusted if there resolutions are put into reality.
